Top of the Pops Christmas Special

Example will be gracing our screens on Christmas Day. He will be making an appearance on this years Christmas special of Top of the Pops, performing 'Changed the Way You Kissed Me'.

Also, in an interview during the filming of TOTP he told us what he would be doing for Christmas, while he is in Australia with his parents and sister...
"We have a normal Christmas dinner but the difference is you’re in shorts and a vest, I haven’t had Christmas in England for five years.

“From what I remember it’s stuff yourself, watch TV and stay indoors and maybe get drunk and watch films that you’ve already seen in the cinema. Australia is eat outdoors, although it’s still turkey and roast potatoes, then cricket in the afternoon and in the swimming pool in the evening.

“I did a bit of fishing last Christmas – I caught three and felt like Jesus. I was still jet-lagged so I got up at 6am and went fishing, then helped my mum prepare the roast potatoes.”

TOTP Christmas Special 2011 airs on BBC One, on Christmas Day at 2pm.

Playing in the Shadows Voted in Top 20 of 2011

The Mirror have revealed their top 20 albums of 2011 and they have chosen Example's 'Playing in the Shadows' for number 16. This is what they said about the album ...

"Casting himself as the go-to guy for rave spectacular experiences, Elliot Gleave designed a floor-shaking third album packed with hits - and two No 1 singles among them. Clever songs turn his glitzy experience as a pop star on its head and examine the dark side of debauchery."

Good review! Other people in the list include Example, Wretch 32, Rizzle Kicks, Katy B and Rebecca Ferguson.

Thousands of Women Want to Sleep with Example

Example has revealed that since becoming famous he has noticed the amount of women that want to sleep with him sky-rocket.

'Speaking in this month's FHM Magazine, which is out now, he explained: "At the start there might be a couple of fans who'd heard an odd song from my first album who wanted to sleep with me; now there's thousands, and obviously they're better quality!"

Being such a hit with the ladies has made the rapper realise that he would sometimes prefer a romantic evening and a simple cuddle.

"I've had some fun, and when it starts it's pretty exciting because you're like 'Wow, it's all on a plate'. But then I think it becomes a bit soulless after a while, and I get quite romantic, I just long for a cuddle rather than meaningless sex," he explained.

Despite the volume of attention he receives, the London artist admitted that he still gets called names on Twitter, but he doesn't let it bother him.

Example, real name Elliot Gleave, also made the effort to point out that his real life persona is not too dissimilar to the man he becomes on stage.

"Elliot and Example aren't that different. Although, me, Elliot, doesn't like attention on the street. But when I'm on stage I lap it up – I'm so big headed I want everyone looking at me," he said.'

Example Rules Out Colabs on Next Album

Example has spoken to BBC News about not wanting to collaborate with anyone on his new album. This is an extract from the BBC Newsbeat website.

'The singer has already begun working on the follow-up to his current record, Playing In The Shadows.
The 29-year-old said: "I've started writing my fourth album, and the only collaborations will be with producers.
"I just don't know if it makes sense for me to do that many [collaborations], I just want to exist on my own if I can."
Example, whose real name is Elliot Gleave, also revealed who he would like to produce the forthcoming album.
"There'll hopefully be a lot of people I've worked with before like Nero, Chase & Status and Skream. I also want to do something with Rob Swire from Pendulum.
"I'll probably go to America and maybe try and do something with Swedish House Mafia and Skrillex."

Speaking to Newsbeat at Mencap Music's Little Noise sessions, Gleave said he has turned down several opportunities to work with other artists over the last year.
"I get asked to do maybe five or six features a week, ranging from boy bands and girl bands to new indie bands, to remixes of rock bands.
"[But] I need to have a break because I've been on daytime radio every day for the last 18 months and I don't want to overkill it.
"In terms of other artists I'm probably not going to be doing many collaborations. I want to limit it to stuff that I'm a huge fan of."
The rapper is known for his controversial opinions, which he often posts on Twitter.
He recently upset fans of The Saturdays after describing the girl-group as "miming dancers".
When asked about his comments on the site, Example said: "If I slate the Saturdays it's not because I hate them personally.
"I just think the record label should be doing a better job of marketing them or writing them songs.
"It's not like I hate girl bands or boy bands, I just don't like bad pop. I think there's a good way and a bad way to do pop.
"On the flip side, I really like people like JLS. I think they have good songs and a good image and they're put together well and they put on a good show."
